Truk Lagoon—properly known as Chuuk Lagoon—is one of the most legendary dive destinations on the planet and is widely considered the Wreck Diving Capital of the World. Sheltered inside a massive coral atoll in Micronesia, this remote lagoon holds an astonishing concentration of World War II wrecks, all resting within close reach of one another.
Once the Japanese Navy’s main Pacific stronghold, Chuuk was devastated in 1944 during Operation Hailstone, leaving behind an unmatched collection of wrecks now draped in coral and alive with marine life. From massive Maru cargo ships still holding tanks and aircraft parts to shallow aircraft wrecks and reef-lined channels, every dive blends history, exploration, and awe.
Aboard the Pacific Master, you’ll dive deep into this living history with up to four dives per day and approximately 30 dives total. Purpose-built for divers and supported by expert briefings and logistics, this liveaboard offers the time, access, and immersion needed to truly experience Chuuk Lagoon—a bucket-list expedition where history and world-class wreck diving meet beneath the surface.
Mandatory Requirements: Advanced Open Water or equivalent with a minimum of 50 logged dives. Nitrox certification and experience in currents strongly recommended. Given the remote nature of this trip, diving and travel insurance are mandatory for all guests.
Please note: A standard credit card processing fee will apply to payments made by credit card for this trip. Paying directly via bank transfer (ACH) incurs no additional charges.

Purpose-built for divers, Pacific Master delivers a refined liveaboard experience focused on comfort, efficiency, and exceptional service. Formerly operating in the Solomon Islands as M/V Taka, this steel-hulled vessel is supported by a seasoned crew, professional dive team, and skilled chefs dedicated to a seamless and memorable voyage.
The vessel accommodates up to 20 guests across 12 well-appointed cabins, including premium en-suite doubles and double/twins, along with standard singles and twins with shared facilities—offering flexible options for every traveler.
On the main deck, a spacious, air-conditioned lounge and dining area provides the perfect setting to relax between dives and enjoy fresh onboard cuisine. The expansive dive deck is thoughtfully laid out with individual dive stations, a dedicated camera area, rinse tanks, freshwater showers, and convenient facilities designed with serious divers in mind.
Above, the generous sun deck invites you to unwind between dives, stretch out on loungers, and take in the open-ocean views.
Water temperatures in Truk (Chuuk) Lagoon in March typically range from 80–82°F (27–28°C). Most divers are comfortable in a 3mm full wetsuit, while those prone to getting cold or planning longer, deeper wreck dives may prefer a 5mm wetsuit or a 3mm with a hooded vest. A hood is optional but recommended for extended bottom times and repetitive diving.
For all travelers joining us on international dive trips we recommend DiveAssure for dive accident insurance and travel insurance. Dive accident insurance can protect you in the event of a dive-related injury and is strongly recommended for all of our guests. Travel insurance can protect you in the event of an unexpected trip cancellation or trip interruption and can also cover lost or damaged luggage expenses, unexpected itinerary changes, and more.
