About this trip

As one of the seven wonders of the underwater world, the Red Sea & Egypt offer scuba divers some of the world's most beautiful coral reefs, plentiful marine life, and a wide variety of diverse dive sites.  Liveaboards exploring the northern reaches generally depart from Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh and head northeast through the shallow lagoons of El Gouna and the Straits of Gubal to explore the renowned Abu Nuhas reef, known as the Red Seas' Ship Graveyard.

Due to little rainfall, high evaporation, and a relatively isolated location, the Red Sea has one of the world's highest rates of salinity. These same factors also provide excellent diving conditions. Furthermore, the Red Sea has few river tributaries feeding into it, which means limited microalgae allowing excellent visibility.

Taking in the classic North and the legendary Brother Islands, we will dive spectacular drop offs, famous wrecks, and stunning reefs - giving us the chance to enjoy the best of the North and the Brothers Marine Park!

The Blue Horizon Liveaboard
The award-winning M/Y Blue Horizon is Blue O Two's flagship fleet vessel and the benchmark for all other Blue O Two vessels to follow. With a contemporary and stylish feel, M/Y Blue Horizon takes Red Sea liveaboard diving to a whole new level and is truly deserving of the title 'Best Liveaboard' in the Sport Diver awards, as well as 'Liveaboard of the Year' awarded by DIVER magazine.
With a large dining area, a totally separate sky lounge with a state-of-the-art entertainment system, a shaded deck area, and a sun deck, there is always space to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Red Sea. All cabins benefit from air conditioning, en suite facilities, mini refrigerators, and in-cabin entertainment.
M/Y Blue Horizon is equipped with a nitrox membrane and can also cater for rebreather and technical divers, upon request and subject to availability.

Dive Sites

Elphinstone

A Red Sea legend, this isolated, long, finger-shaped reef, lies in open ocean 12 kilometres offshore between Port Ghalib and Marsa Alam. Due to its location and exposed nature currents are to be expected, which are often strong and can be unpredictable, but with them come rich rewards. With north and south plateaus covered in hard and soft corals and stunning walls reaching depths of 40+ metres, diving here can be challenging and exhilarating. Grey reef sharks and Napoleon wrasses are regularly spotted in the summer, and occasionally Scalloped Hammerheads and oceanic whitetip sharks often congregate in vast numbers during late autumn.

A fabulous trip in The Channel Island on The Peace Live-aboard! This was my second trip and I loved all the new places Captain JP anchored at. The leader of the trip, Rich Dewitt, was attentive and provided great support! Daily program is easy to follow: get up, suit up, eat, dive and repeat up to 5 times a day! Can’t beat that! The marine life is exceptional, I saw sharks, moray and wolf eels, lobsters, picked up scallops, I cannot wait to catch my first lobster in October.

Well organized and the best boat crew. The food was unbelievable, the deck crew were very patient while always keeping with safe procedures, but still making it fun. And of course, I always felt safe with our captains at the helm. The divers in the group were a lot of fun to share this adventure with. And finally what a great trip leader, as always...Rich Dewitt

Wonderful trip! The crew was knowledgeable and helpful regarding dive sites. The food was great too! It was clear that the Peace and her crew really have scuba diving in mind for every traveller.

This was a fun trip. The sea-life and coral reefs were amazing. The dives were fairly easy, except for 2 days of very rough seas. However, we dove anyway. The boat was nice, but had some ragged edges. The rooms were very small, no place to stow your clothes. The floor boards in my room were coming apart. The staff was very friendly and supportive. The food was good. The travel coordination was good.
