Atlantis Dive Resort Puerto Galera is built into the hills of Sabang Beach with a beautiful beachfront location just minutes away from over 40 premium dive sites. With up to 5 guided boat dives per day, you can experience the incredible biodiversity of Puerto Galera. The variation in dives will ensure that you never get bored; from relaxed critter diving to wonderful drift dives, a couple of small wrecks, and a day trip to the incredible Verde Island. Capture captivating macro life, or use a wide angle for stunning reef and wreck scenery... Puerto Galera is a photographer's dream!
Puerto Galera is well-known for its numerous scuba diving spots. The area was designated a Man and Biosphere Reserve of UNESCO in 1973. Being located at the very heart of the ‘Coral Triangle’ it has some of the most diverse coral reef diving in Asia. The area also features numerous pocket beaches and stunning tropical scenery.
Puerto Galera, a Spanish name meaning “Port of Galleons,” has plenty of shipwrecks waiting to be explored, as the Spanish used this place as a haven for their ships during the typhoon season. You will find over 152 coral species, over 180 species of nudibranchs, 19 mangrove species, and 9 out of the world’s 16 seagrass species, making Puerto Galera a biodiversity hotspot and a diving paradise. Beautiful corals, dramatic walls, and stunning reefs are also part of this varied marine world. Head to the west of the region to explore many secluded coves. There are several inner bays that offer shallow coral gardens and sandy patches, while the outer bay walls offer incredibly vivid corals, with canyons, swim throughs, rock formations and small wrecks with heaps of reef fish.

Verde Island
This island has waters that are very rich marine biodiversity; in fact, this is considered the most biodiverse area in the entire Coral Triangle. Some species you can expect to encounter include many threatened species: sea turtles, hawksbills, olive ridleys, and green turtles, humphead wrasses, giant groupers and giant clams. The Verde Island Passage is a 1.14-million-hectare passage with hundreds of different species and an abundance of corals.
Manila Channel
At a depth of around 85 feet the remains of a shipwreck that caught fire and sunk hundreds of years ago can still be seen here.
This is also an ideal site for night diving. Filled with hard corals that can be seen at just 3 feet of the water, this is one of the most popular sites in the area.
Giant Clam
The name speaks for itself. This site is covered in Giant Clams. While there is some coral in the immediate area of the clams, it becomes more sandy bottom as you move away from them.
As you move away from the area with the Giant Clams, it becomes sandy bottom muck diving. Keep a sharp eye out as the sand is full of life!
Sabang Point
A beautiful dive site just outside of Sabang. Currents are present depending on the tides. Visibility at this site is always good. Pristine hard corals, colorful crinoids and even sharks can be seen here.
Canyons
A favorite dive site that is composed of three canyons running side by side. A must-dive in the area, it is for experienced divers looking for a taste of fast and furious.
The three canyons have sheltering walls and sandy bottoms that enables divers to watch the big fish fighting in the current above.
Sinandigan Wall
Sinandigan Wall itself drops from 15-100 feet and is particularly well-known for its variety of invertebrates. Nudibranchs are found in profusion and color-changing cuttlefish are common. The site is very popular with photographers as there is plenty to see including banded sea snakes, octopus, and mantis shrimp.
Their dedicated beachfront dive resort incorporates 40 rooms with exquisite vegetation, and all amenities to create a dive vacation of a lifetime! Indulge yourself in any one of a number of services or experiences to make your dive vacation complete. Whether it’s shopping for native gifts, pampering yourself with a massage or pedicure, or just relaxing with a cocktail by the pool, their courteous staff will ensure your every whim is catered for.
